SM-56A Flat & Satchel Bag Machine

Mechanical, rebuildable, and cheap to run. The workhorse.

The axe-type V-bottom machine is our entry model and the one most first-time buyers start with. It is deliberately mechanical: a cam-driven cut, no servo drives, no drive electronics to source. A competent local fitter can keep it running for twenty years.

SM-56A Flat & Satchel Bag Machine

Overview

Where the SM-P series buys you speed and quick size changes, the SM-56A buys you independence. There is no drive card to fail and no supplier to wait on: bearings, belts, chains and the cutting blade are standard parts available in any industrial market.

That matters in the markets we sell to. A machine that a local workshop can repair on a Saturday is worth more than a faster one that waits three weeks for a servo amplifier.

Size change is by gear and cam setting rather than recipe, so it suits a producer running a few formats in long runs — bakery and bread bags above all.

Key features

  • Cam-driven cut — no servo drives, no drive electronics
  • All wear parts are standard, locally sourceable
  • Precision V-bottom sealing for bread and bakery
  • Simple blade change and setting mechanism
  • Installed power ≈ 15 kW
  • Inline flexo printing, 2 colours

What it produces

  • Bread and loaf bags
  • Bakery and patisserie bags
  • Greaseproof food bags
  • Fruit and vegetable bags
  • Simple grocery bags

How it works

Three sub-assemblies, built separately and married on the test floor.

SM-56A · 1 · Reel stand & optional print

1 · Reel stand & optional print

A mechanical brake and a spring-loaded dancer set web tension. It is adjusted by hand once at the start of a run and then left alone — there is nothing to calibrate and nothing to lose settings.

  • Mechanical brake tension
  • Reel width max. 1000 mm
  • 2 colour flexo deck
  • Manual splice table
SM-56A · 2 · Tube forming & side seam

2 · Tube forming & side seam

The former folds the web and the glue wheel closes the side seam. Everything here is driven off the main line shaft, so the timing between forming and cutting can never drift out of phase.

  • Single line-shaft drive
  • Cold-glue side seam
  • Gusset 20 – 90 mm
  • Interchangeable formers
SM-56A · 3 · Axe cut & V-bottom

3 · Axe cut & V-bottom

The axe blade — the feature the machine is named for in Turkish — cuts the tube and forms the characteristic V base in one stroke. Bag length is set by changing the cam and gear pair; the change takes about forty minutes and holds indefinitely.

  • Cam-driven axe cut
  • V-bottom in one stroke
  • Gear-set bag length
  • Simple blade replacement
